I have completed all of the research and the elemnts needed to make up my Advert. It took me time to get feedback and then develop the advert to ensure that it appeals to my target market. From my research I found that genre's magazine advert's didn't really include images on themselves but more focus on the band and album name. I ended off with two adverts which I liked however from the feedback which I gained I think the second design worked better. The two are shown below.
From there came creating the Digi Pack I had to ensure that I made them link so they looked from the same band. I decided to do this by thinking about colour and the layout. I have ensured that I havent made both products to confusing and made them simple yet effective.
Feedback for magzine Advert;
- I really like your ideas and how you have moved from the designing stage to applying your design on the computer I feel that the layout is easy to read and also that the text you have used meets gener conventions.
- In my opinion your secound layout and design for the advert will appeal much more to the target market. I believe that the colours you have used work with your other products.
- I like the graphic on the front of your advert however in my opinion the first graphc is more appealing.
- Overall you have created a professional looking advert which will appeal to your target market, you have successfully met genre conventios.
From my feedback I found that most of the peple liked my secound advert. Throughout making my advert I asked for feedback on each stage which has allowed me to have a good finish. I think that the colours I have used have worked well and I am not changing the design any further. My reasons for this are my feedback was mainly positive but also by addig or changing my product I feel this could take the quality away.
Digi Pack
Like the magazine advert in my research looking at genre most bands dont have pictures of themselves on the cover, they are more plain however inside you see the band. I again gained feedback as such and then improved to gain the best possible results.
Feedback for Digi Pack:
- From the start you have asked me for feedback. I believe that from the first design and in continuing to act upon feedback you have made a very good proffesional Digi pack.
- This product links well with the Magazine advert. You have linked them clearly by the use of the same graphic and then the colours. Overall I like it.
- I really like the Digi Pack as a whole, The way you have a graphic that changes into the bands name on the front works well.
- The colours you have chosen and used against the black backgrond work really well
- You have included all the needed information and the way in which you have layed out your Digi pack works well
Like my Magazine advert I got feedback throught the making of my Digi pack, as of this the end feedback proved very positive. The response to my work has been good and had allowed me to see that my products link really well. I like how my audience noticed the theme I was creating and also how they noticed how the graphic turns into a bands name. Overall the Digi pack has worked well with the Digi Pack.

My Process of making
Finished Music Video:
From all of my research I found that I would need to complete rough video to allow me to get feedback. The feedback will allow me ton be able to meet the target audiences interests fully. I completed a rough cut on movie maker and then played it to a focus group were they gave me verbal feedback. In creating the video I came over problems were one of my actors dropped out; the lead singer dropped out at the very last minute were everything was ready and prepared for. From this I then had to rearrange the dates and choose another actor. This proved differcult as of the genre trype and the lyrics in the song however in the end it fell into place. I changed my video to being mainly performance based and then put all my different shots together. There are things that need to be changed I.e lip syncing and some need to be re taken. I have got more information from feedback in the focus group. Please take time to look at my rough cut and feedbcak below.
Feedback:
In the feedback I gained some usefull and consructive comments that will allow me to have an overall good music video. I picked out some of the main comments that I noted down which I will mainly focus on improving;
- make sure that the clips that are split link smoothly
- some parts need to be lip synced better
- make sure that the camera is steady when needed
- perhaps were the actor doesnt know the lyrics show shotts of feet movement in time with the music
- the first part is good and I think that you should keep were she is extremely close camera shot, it works well
I then created a music video on Premire Elemts which allowed me to include transitions and effects to allow me to have the professional finish. I used transitions such as 'Zoom' to make a smoother link between clips. I varied the angle of the shots and from there split the screen using the 'Replicate' effect. I feel that the second video works much better and that it is of a much better quality. From there I have then got feedback from people to improve for a final draft; I completed this in my media class but to get feedback from my target audience I uploaded the video to YouTube and gained extra feedback. The video is shown below;
Feedback from video:
- The split screen works well and is my favorite part of the video, for improvements could you double and triple it?
- Area for improvement could be to use more intercutting
- Pace of the editing is perhaps to slow 1.23 show a close up shot of thr drummer
- Could use the extracts youve already filmed, just use the 'pan&zoom' tool.
- Get some extra shots of different band members. More varied shots.
- The video as a whole is good as it will appeal to the target audience. I think that the shots used are good, you could include more shots of the other bnand members at the appropriate times.
- The effects you use are good as you have made sure that the movement from each clip isnt too much of a change howeve were appropriate you have picked up the pace and included jump cuts.
- I like the video as a whole make that the lip sink is good enough to use. The first shot of the lead female singing works really well.
- At the start of the video the lightning effect works well linking all three products together.
- By making the start and the begining shot black and white it shows a start and an overall finish to the video which works.
From my feedback I need to take some extra shots. These shots are off the other band members to vary the shot type. I am going to take different angles shots for example high amgle above the bass player. I will retake a shot were the female singer sings to make for better lip sinking. I am going to get a shot of the drummer using a high angle and a close up shot. Varying the shots for example also using mid-shots and extreme close ups wilol work well in the overall finish of the video. When taking more shots I need mo be careful of the background and also were I have used the split screen that I should include more split screens. Keep the idea I have however by using the feedback and improving I will have a better overall music video
- The feedback has helped me and I am going to use this and create a final video.

- marie your video is really well finished and fun to watch
- the conventions work well and you have made sure that all the products link, for example the use of colour against the black
- the only thing I would say is that when transferring the video over onto finishing its trapped the track at the end and cut it short however the rest of the video matches well with movements being in time witht the music as Goodwin suggested
- my bfavorite part is were you have played with the way your female takes control of the camera moving it around
- it doesnt look stages
- all products fit genres expectations perfectly
- you have lip-synced well with what you had as I know this is hard.
